SCREENPRO Woven Acoustic Technology

What is 3W?

3W is SCREENPRO’s woven acoustic-transparent projection fabric designed for RGB laser projection systems and high-end home cinema environments.

Cinematic Woven Texture

The interlaced fabric architecture helps create a softer and more natural image character with a premium cinema-like surface texture.

Improved Perceived Contrast

Compared with traditional white acoustic fabrics, the darker high-contrast surface helps deliver deeper black levels and more neutral shadow detail.

Acoustic Transparency

Designed for behind-screen speaker placement, 3W preserves natural sound transmission while supporting premium fixed-frame theater installations.

3W Screen Advantages

Engineered for RGB laser projection, reference home cinema rooms, acoustic transparency, and comfortable long-form movie viewing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about SCREENPRO screen materials, compatibility, installation, and product customization.

SCREENPRO: Yes. Material samples are available to help evaluate texture, image quality, acoustic transparency, and projector compatibility before ordering a complete screen.

SCREENPRO: 3W material is suitable for most projector types and is especially optimized for RGB triple-laser projectors.

SCREENPRO: Recommended seating distance:

92" → 7–8 ft
100" → 8–9 ft
120" → 9–11 ft
150" → 12–14 ft

Because woven acoustic materials contain micro-textured structures, extremely close viewing distances may reveal slight texture depending on projector type and viewer sensitivity.

SCREENPRO: Under normal movie viewing conditions, most users do not find the texture distracting. Extremely close viewing distances or bright uniform scenes may make the texture slightly more noticeable.

SCREENPRO: No. 3W is designed to reduce visible laser speckle, but it cannot completely eliminate it. Final performance depends on projector model, light output, screen size, and room conditions.

SCREENPRO: 3W woven material generally provides lower moiré risk and improved RGB laser compatibility. Micro-perforated material may be suitable for other AV applications, but 3W is better suited for triple-laser home theater setups.

SCREENPRO: Yes. 3W acoustic transparent material allows speakers to be positioned behind the screen for a more immersive cinema-style soundstage.

SCREENPRO: 3W woven structure is designed to minimize moiré risk and is generally compatible with modern 4K projectors. Actual results may vary depending on projector resolution, pixel structure, and viewing distance.

SCREENPRO: Black backing may be recommended when speakers, equipment lights, wall reflections, or other reflective surfaces are located behind the screen.

SCREENPRO: Different materials are optimized for different projection applications.

SCREENPRO: A recommended screen brightness target is approximately 600–800 lumens per square meter. Actual requirements vary depending on screen size, projector model, gain, and ambient light.

SCREENPRO: Yes. Selected motorized and tensioned SCREENPRO screen systems support 3W material integration. It is not recommended for quick-fold screens because repeated folding may create visible marks.

SCREENPRO: Yes. 3W material supports large-screen gaming and high-resolution content. Gaming performance mainly depends on the projector's input lag, refresh rate, and image processing mode.
