SCREENPRO AJ vs. AB Motorized UST ALR Screens

In our previous article, Laser Projection & ALR Screen Technology , we introduced the optical principles behind T-Prism ALR screen technology for ultra short throw projectors.

For users considering a tab-tensioned motorized ALR screen for an ultra short throw projector, the SCREENPRO JAMPO AJ and BENZ AB series are two classic options.

Both series are designed for UST projection systems, but they differ in housing construction, installation method, available colors, and overall structure. The comparison below highlights the key differences to help you select the most suitable screen for your installation.

Which Series Should You Choose?

Choose the AJ Series When:

  • You prefer a lighter aluminum screen housing.
  • You need a black or white housing option.
  • You want adjustable rear mounting brackets.
  • You need greater flexibility when positioning the screen during installation.

Choose the AB Series When:

  • You prefer a larger steel housing structure.
  • A white housing is suitable for your installation.
  • Your installation can accommodate fixed mounting positions.
  • You are replacing or matching an existing AB series installation.

Important T-Prism Orientation Note

The optical direction of T-Prism screen material must be configured according to the projector installation orientation during production. It cannot be reversed or modified after the screen has been manufactured. Please confirm whether the projector will be installed below or above the screen before placing an order.
