SCREENPRO PROJECT CASE STUDY

Custom 180" 21:9 Woven Acoustic Transparent Projection Screen

A custom ultra-wide fixed-frame projection screen engineered for immersive cinematic viewing, acoustic transparency, and large-format installation.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Built beyond standard screen sizes.

This project required a large-format 180-inch projection screen with a 21:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio. Because the screen was intended for an acoustically integrated projection environment, a conventional solid projection surface was not suitable.

SCREENPRO therefore produced a customized fixed-frame solution using woven acoustic transparent projection material, allowing speakers to be positioned behind the projection surface while maintaining a clean, uninterrupted cinematic presentation.

FRONT SURFACE

A clean projection surface for an ultra-wide image.

From the viewing side, the woven material provides a continuous projection surface designed for large-format image reproduction.

The 21:9 format creates a wider cinematic presentation compared with conventional 16:9 screens, making it particularly suitable for dedicated theater and custom AV installations.

REAR STRUCTURE

Designed for tension, support, and acoustic integration.

The rear view reveals the structural system behind the large projection surface. Multiple vertical support members help reinforce the oversized frame while the screen material is tensioned around the perimeter.

The woven screen surface allows audio from speakers installed behind it to pass through, supporting a more integrated front soundstage.

FACTORY ASSEMBLY

Large-format screens require more than simply scaling up a standard frame.

Before shipment, the oversized screen was assembled and inspected at the factory. The process allowed the team to verify the frame structure, the projection surface tension, the overall screen geometry, and the final appearance.

WHY WOVEN ACOUSTIC TRANSPARENT?

Keep the speakers where the sound belongs — behind the image.

Acoustic transparent screens allow loudspeakers to be installed behind the screen instead of beside or below it. This makes it possible to align dialogue and front-channel audio more naturally with the projected image.

SCREENPRO CUSTOM ENGINEERING

Custom size. Custom ratio. Built around the project.

Projection screen requirements can vary significantly between residential theaters, commercial installations, simulation environments, exhibition spaces, and specialized AV projects. SCREENPRO supports customized screen dimensions, aspect ratios, materials, and frame configurations according to project requirements.
